Product Design Engineer

Job Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with various disciplines along with industrial design, operations, and cross-functional engineering groups
- Brainstorm concepts and solutions to a wide variety of complex engineering challenges
- Increase, prototype, compare, and troubleshoot new designs
- Lead design evaluations and contribute to both internal and external design reviews
- Present your concepts to cross‑functional teams and leadership
- Generate targeted specifications and drawings
- Communicate with internal production teams and external vendors to optimize designs for performance, aesthetics, and manufacturability
- Conduct failure analysis and design experiments (DOE) to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
- Validate and represent designs through multiple iterations
- Develop deep technical knowledge by taking designs from concept to manufacturing
- Ensure that designs meet required performance and usability needs to provide high-quality hardware for customers
Key Qualifications
- Strong engineering fundamentals and high personal motivation
- Design intelligence: accurate mechanical intuition, innovative problem solving, inquisitive nature, attention to detail
- Strong communication skills: written, visual, and verbal; ability to clearly convey design ideas and contribute to brainstorming
- Experience developing parts and assemblies in 3-D CAD
- Proficiency in design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis methods, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing
- Knowledge of finite‑element analysis concepts and modeling
- Flexibility and comfort working in a fast‑changing environment
- Ability to travel internationally (up to 20%)
Education & Experience
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 2+ years of experience in product design
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range: $130,000–$242,000, determined by ability, experience, performance, and location
